This is a brief introduction to Valley Productions, its team members and how we operate.
VP, based in the Deep South, was founded in 2010 and is owned and run by Fiona Barclay Smith, who has had more than 30 years’ experience in the photographic industry. She is the principal photographer and chief whip, and being a mom of four, she is undaunted when faced with scores of excited, bouncing, super-charged children!
The VP team includes several super-talented assistants and an on-the-ball design and print team which attends to all artwork requirements and makes sure your prints and packages look fab. All our photo packages are printed on top quality paper and we are looked after by Orms Print Room, based in Cape Town. Our in-house sublimation printing branch handles all the fun stuff – from mugs to mousepads to aluminium water bottles.
Some of the bigger schools VP works with include Disa Primary, Hout Bay; Zwaanswyk Academy, Retreat; Simon’s Town Schools; Star of the Sea, St James; The Rock Academy, Sun Valley; Thandokhulu High School, Mowbray.
No school is too small, however, and we have many pre-primaries and creches, ranging from 15 children to 100. These include Jacob’s Ladder and Rose Cottage, Bergvliet; The Wise Owl, Kirstenhof; Friend’s Playschool, Muizenberg; Darun Na’im Montessori, Wynberg; Al Tartil Montessori, Wynberg; Squirrel’s Leap, Kenilworth; Angel Starfish, Siyazama and Jelly Tots, Hout Bay – and several more.
Being a medium-sized, owner-run company, our aim is not to take over the world, but to stay small enough to bring a personal but professional touch to the shoots – and most important of all, to provide wonderful portraits for your children.
